First, we removed the old existing drive. Then we put in a new hardcore base and membrane sheeting. We created three raised flower beds with bull-nose key-kerbs laid in concrete. We laid the driveway in a 45° herringbone pattern using paving blocks in a shade of 'ash' and gave it a double border to anchor it down. We also installed two recessed manhole covers.
