First, we dug out and removed the original surface and some greenery to make more space for the seating area. Then we laid down a new hardcore foundation on top of a weed-protective membrane sheeting. We installed the Indian sandstone slabs in various sizes and shades to contrast nicely with the charcoal block paved border. Finally, we installed several decorative elements, like a circle slabbed pattern around a tree and singular slabs in a small gravel patch next to the flower beds.
